Kateřinská Cave in the Moravian Karst

Not far from Skalní mlýn, hidden behind a monumental entrance portal - lies Kateřinská Cave. You will be astonished by its vast chambers and excellent acoustics which entitles it to be the ideal place for various music events. Your children will listen to the tale about the little shepherdess Kateřinka and you will be enchanted by the music of Verdi's Nabucco.

The starting point of the cave tour is situated at the opening of Suchý žleb Valley nearby Skalní mlýn. After the passage of a low 60-meter corridor, you will enter the largest accessible cave area in the Czech Republic - the Main Dome. The cave’s acoustics is excellent and you can enjoy listening to a part of Verdi’s Nabucco. There is a number of passages and shafts leading from the Main Dome. The sighseeing tour goes further into the caves where you will be astonished by one of the most beautiful sceneries in the Moravian Karst. Long and thin stalagmites and stalagnates which form the so-called "Bamboo grove”. On your way back, a remarkable, colourfully lit structure will catch your eye: “The witch”.
