Where to go on a school trip? Skalní mlýnis an ideal destination where you can experience many things on one spot. One-day school trip can begin right at Skalní mlýn which is easily accessible by bus. We also offer a programme for two-day school trips. 

A one-day school trip Moravia

We recommend to first visit The House of the Nature of Moravian Karst which is a modern visitors centre with interactive indoor and outdoor expositions and a 3D cinema. The children will, for example, learn how dripstones come to being. Later on, the whole class is taken by the sightseeing train from Skalní mlýn to the Punkva caves. The road leads trough a picturesque landscape alongside Punkva river. The tour of the Punkva caves with boat trip is surely an unforgettable experience.

After that you may get on the aerial tramway and go up to the Upper Bridge to see the Macocha Abbys, 138.5m deep. It is possible to rest here, buy refreshments and souvenires. But don’t forget to go down to the Lower Bridge which offers yet another different view of Macocha.

And what about the return to Skalní mlýn? Either by the aerial tramway and sightseeing train or you can walk through the forest.

Two-day schools trip? Discovering the Moravian Karst

A two-day school trip includes accommodation at Macocha Chalet which is situated by the Upper Bridge of the abyss. It further includes full board, tickets for the caves and other parts of the programme, such as visiting a Rope Centre. Visit to the Moravian Karst is also suitable for outdoor school stays - pupils get to know the landscape right in the terrain (botany, zoology, geology, or history of the use and processing of limestone).

Follow-up programme of the shool trip

If there is still some time, you can visit soapworks and chandlery Mydlidědek in Lažánky which is located in close proximity of Blansko. Children can make a candle or a soap there.
